I wanted a pelican but could not justify the price. A search on the net for high quality alternatives turned up SKB. I bough the 9x7x6 model for my SA 1911 TRP and my S&W governor for travel (air). I really Like the build quality and its a bonus its made in the USA!!!!! I will buying another in this size and a long one to fit my rifle and shotgun. At work we bought a few pelicans to hold expensive computer forensic testing equipment (cloning and recovery, testing, RF devices, a Laptop size case and one for a digital SLR with lens kits)2 years ago. we are looking to out fit a few more teams and we will be going with SKB
