for analog conferences and phone bridges, I love this phone... the expandable version is ideal for the flexibility i need in various meeting venuesI wish someone made it easier to buy longer RJ-9 cables to extend the microphones further...In a quiet room, the speaker on this device can be heard clearly 30 feet away. but in my meeting spaces, I need a microphone that would pick up the voice of the person talking at a podium from up to 30 feet away... the fix was to use a simple telephone line coupler and some custom made RJ-9 cables to extend the range of the expansion microphones! there has been zero degradation of audio from this modification....My mom is over 90 years old and can barely hear.So with an ordinary telephone we could not communicate. But with this we can. What do you need more ?I purchased this unit plus the additional microphones and it is a great unit with a good price. We haven't even used it but are returning it! None of the literature on this site or even on the Polycom site explains that it will ONLY work on a single phone line. We have analog lines so that was not an issue. However like any business, we have multiple lines. And, this unit cannot work on a multi-line system. It worked fine when I hooked to our fax line. But NO dial tone when hooked to any other phone jack in our building. It is a shame that the company does NOT provide this critical key piece of information. I think this is true of ALL of their products. For the cost of the equipment, this should be disclosed!!!I bought this product about a month ago. Our conference room is small and we usually connect with people all over the world. So we needed something that would give us a clear conversation without having to repeat ourselves all the time as well as being able to hear our colleagues from all parts of the world clearly. This did a great job! Our colleagues noticed the change without us letting them know that we were using a new device. They came through clearer and the background noise was eliminated. Our conversations went smoothly. We do not have to repeat our selves so the other person can hear us clearly, it was heard the first time. Set up was a breeze. The instructions were right there in three steps.Purchased the SoundStation2 with EX Mic Pods to replace an old Polycom in our 12' X 24' conference room. The sound is just excellent and with the Mic Pods at the ends of our large conference table, even call participants sitting in the corners of the room can now be heard. No more moving the triangle from one end of the table to the other. Setup was as simple as plugging everything in and dialing. The Mic Pods have their own mute buttons. Can't think of anything negative to say.The item shipped in a timely manner. However, when using the product during a conference call meeting there were complaints of audio difficulties. Overall, besides this deficiency the product seems to perform fairly well. Due to the audio problems there is a possibility our company may explore other options at this time. This is only for old school phone lines. Our office building just went to VOIP phone system so we now have to use cell phones in the speaker, but it works amazing. Definitely get extra mic pods as they make a huge differenceWe purchased this phone to replace a much older (10+ years!) phone that worked so poorly, conference calls were a burden and a challenge. Voices were distorted and sound quality was uneven (voices would drop off in mid-word and then be audible for several seconds, and drop off again). We purchased the phone with the satellite mikes, because we often have a group of 10-15 people in one room communicating with 8 to 10 people at other locations. The mikes and the phone work *really* well - just as other folks' reviews said they would. Delivery was exceptionally fast, and the phone and mikes were well-packaged, too. I recommend the product and the vendor.Product looks new in box probably from Eastern Europe judging by the Russian writing under the model name on the back. I find the description deceptive. It says it has 3 cardiod microphones. For anyone that has used these before that does not mean it comes with the extension mics despite their being a cutout for them in the box. You can of course buy the mics separately. We couldn't find the digital Polycom SS, so bought this analog version. We used it with a Konexx Konference convertor for our digital line.Cons:1. It doesn't work if there are multiple extensions on the digital phone set, so use it with single extension phone set.2. Because the digital-to-analog convertor is used, we couldn't dial out using the Polycom keypad, dial out only works on the digital phone keypad.Pros:This expandable version allows you to connect your Cell phones, laptop & desktop PCs to it using additional cables, so you can use it as a glorified Mic and speaker. It is a cheap solution for conference room, and it offers flexibility and mobility. We have two of these at work. Both work great. Good sound, picks up voices well. For the price you would expect a long lasting product. Specially for something that doesn't leave the table, doesn't get warned, or anything like it.Second time we are left with a $300 bill to fix it.If we're using a disposable product, I'll certainly be choosing a brand that charges the right price in the future.not too much happy with the product because price is too high and to much expectation form this phone but over all not satisfied with phone too much price
